Korg TM40 Tuner/Metronome Korg TM40 Tuner/Metronome

Features:

Korg TM40:

Offers both tuner and metronome functions simultaneously or independently. Its large LCD-type needle delivers both the accuracy of an LCD and the excellent visibility of a needle indicator. It also has LED indicators that show pitch deviation or blink to indicate the tempo, making the TM-40 a highly visual tool. Provides quick and accurate coverage of a wide spectrum of notes and pitches for wind, string, keyboard, and most other instruments.

Excellent Functionality and a Wide Detection Range

With a detection range of C1 (32.70Hz) - C8 (4186.01Hz), the TM-40 provides quick and accurate coverage of a wide spectrum of notes and pitches for wind, string, keyboard, and most other instruments. Even low-pitched instruments with complex overtone structures are detected with the precision you expect from Korg. A built-in high-sensitivity mic allows acoustic instruments such as guitar and ukulele to be tuned easily and accurately.

Sound Out!

In addition to the visual tuning guide provided by the meter, you can use the Korg TM-40's built-in speaker to produce a tuning reference pitch (Sound Out). This is convenient for tuning by ear and is also useful for ear training. By pressing the Sound switch, you can select the reference pitch from A5 to B4 (usually used as the tuning standard for wind instruments). And by holding down the Sound switch, you can select a mode in which you step through chromatic pitches from C4 to C5 (one octave).

Adjustable Calibration

The TM-40's Calibration setting is adjustable in a range of 410-480Hz to accommodate a variety of tuning standards. The calibration can be adjusted in 1Hz steps, letting you accurately tune to any song or key. Memory backup is also provided so that the Calibration and Sound Out ("12 NOTES" or "ABb") settings are remembered even when the power is turned off.

Pure Major Third and Minor Third Interval Markings

When intervals of a third are played out of tune in the context of a brass band, orchestra, or other ensemble, it is particularly noticeable. But those intervals can be made to blend more pleasantly by slightly adjusting them (relative to the equal-tempered pitch) to a pure major or minor third. The Korg TM-40's meter scale provides markings to indicate pitches of a pure major and pure minor third relative to a selected pitch. By tuning your instrument so that the meter's indicator needle points to these markings, you can ensure beautiful harmonies when playing in an ensemble. This capability is very useful not only for wind instruments but also for vocal or a cappella practice.

The appropriate note to adjust when tuning to a pure major/minor third will depend on the music you are playing.

Metronome Section

The metronome section of the Korg TM-40 offers convenient functions for practicing a variety of music. Beat mode choose from preset patterns. Beat mode lets you choose a preset tempo and time signature, and Tap mode lets you specify your own tempo. The compact TM-40's contains a large speaker that produces a clear and distinct metronome sound.

13 rhythm variations for practicing a wide range of styles. The TM-40 contains 13 types of rhythms that cover 0 7 beats per measure as well as doublets, triplets, triplets with center beats omitted, quadruplets, and quadruplets with center beats omitted. Tempo is easily adjustable in a range of 40 208BPM.

Sophisticated rhythms, such as triplets/quadruplets with center beats omitted, give you the flexibility to cover a wide range of styles from classical to rock and jazz. Since the volume is adjustable, the TM-40 can meet the needs of any situation, from private practice in a small room to sessions in a large studio.

When using the Tuner and Metronome functions simultaneously, triplets, triplets with center beats omitted, quadruplets, and quadruplets with center beats omitted are not available.

Tempo Adjustment Options

When you adjust the tempo setting, you can choose that the tempo value will increment or decrement either in "full-step" mode (steps of a single unit) or "pendulum-step" mode (steps of several units as on a mechanical metronome). Choose the mode that you prefer.

Set the Tempo with the Tap Function

The TM-40's Tap Tempo function lets you detect and set the desired tempo simply by pressing the Metronome mode START/STOP button at the desired timing in a range of 40 208 bpm. This makes it easy when practicing to a song that you don't know the tempo of, such as a recording on CD.

Memory Backup

With the Memory Backup feature, the Korg TM-40 remembers your Tempo, Beat, Calibration, and Reference Pitch settings even when powered-off.

Auto Power Off

After 20 minutes of no use, the Korg TM-40 Tuner Metronome will automatically turn off to extend battery life.

A new chromatic floor tuner with a large LED display makes this the must-have item for the guitarist or bassist. High precision and advanced functionality and sleek style make this new guitar/bass pedal tuner from Korg our most advanced yet. The pitchblack is the same size as a compact effect unit, and features a tough aluminum die cast body that will endure hard use on the road or in the studio. While small in size, it boasts a large; easy to read LED meter with a light-emitting surface for excellent visibility in any setting from daylight, to stage light to no light as well as an extremely smooth eleven-segment LED meter that allows accurate visual tuning from any angle. With a red LED that indicates the tuner's on/off status, a large note name display, and a tuning guide that indicates whether your instrument is sharp or flat, you'll always be able to tune quickly and accurately in any situation. The pitchblack provides a tuning range of E0 (20.60 Hz) to C8 (4,186 Hz), and adjustable calibration between 436--445 Hz.

Four display modes:

The pitchblack’s LED meter can be switched between four display modes including: Meter, Full Strobe, Half Strobe, and Mirror.

1. Meter mode

Similar to using a needle meter, tune your instrument so that the green LED in the center of the LED display lights and both tuning guide LED’s are lit. The tuning LED’s will be to the right of center if your instrument is sharp, and to the left of the center if your instrument is flat.

2. Full Strobe mode

Tune your instrument so that the LED meters stop streaming and both tuning guide LED’s are lit. The LED meters will stream from left to right if your instrument is sharp and from right to left if your instrument is flat.

3. Half Strobe mode

Tune your instrument so that the LED meters stop streaming and only the green LED in the center is lit and both tuning guide LED’s are lit. The LED meters will stream to the right of center if your instrument is sharp, and to the left of center if your instrument is flat. When the pitch is correct, only the center LED will be lit.

4. Mirror mode

Tune your instrument so that the two LEDs on the left and right sides of the center LED meet in the middle and both tuning guide LED’s are lit. The pitch lit LEDs will spread farther apart the more your instrument is out of tune. The left tuning guide will light if your instrument is flat, and the right tuning guide will light if your instrument is sharp.

100% True Bypass output keeps your tone intact. The pitchblack mutes the input signal for silent tuning, and when you’re not tuning the input is passed directly to the output jack without being affected by any circuitry (True Bypass). So even if you connect the pitchblack between several of your favorite pedals, the signal will pass without going through the internal buffer amp, ensuring that the sounds you've created using your effects will not be colored in any way. The pitchblack is designed to coexist transparently with other effect pedals.

A perfect fit in your pedal board plus the DC output powers other pedals. The pitchblack is designed to fit conveniently into your pedal board system. It provides a DC OUT jack that can supply power to other effect pedals when the optional AC adaptor is used. By connecting optional DC cables, you can supply up to 200 mA of power to multiple effect pedals, simplifying the power connections in your pedal board.

TC Electronics 966000001 Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner TC Electronics 966000001 Polytune Chromatic Pedal Tuner

Features:

PolyTuneTM
Tuning used to be a necessary evil. The last barrier before you could get truly rocking. But now, tuning is ready to get blasted into the 21st century with PolyTuneTM, the stomp-box sized tuning miracle from TC Electronic! PolyTuneTM is the world's first polyphonic tuner - a multiple patents pending, game-changing total tuning turnaround that will have future guitarists wondering how we ever got by without it. It couldn't be done - until we did it. The magic lies in a never before seen approach to tuning aimed at speed, accuracy and ease of use. With PolyTuneTM, you simply strum all strings on your guitar or bass at once, and it will immediately tell you which strings need tuning! This cutting-edge tuning technology revolutionizes the way you tune and accomplishes what has been deemed 'impossible' until now: tuning all strings simultaneously! It really is as simple as strum - tune - rock, and this quantum leap forward allows you to get in tune fast, and back to doing what you love: playing. Strum - Tune - Rock Providing an instant overview of the pitch of all your strings, PolyTuneTM is an invaluable tool in live-settings, where it is essential to be in tune quickly and ready to play. Crowds don't want to wait around, they want to rock, and, let's face it, so do you. Besides live use, this stomp box will deliver like no other in any situation where you want to get tuning out of the way and focus on play. Fever Pitch Equally effective for guitar and bass, PolyTuneTM is extremely flexible as well. The reference pitch can be set to your preference and ranges from 435Hz to 445Hz. This guarantees you'll be able to play along with anyone, with any instrument and in any situation. Drop it like it's hot If you are a guitarist that likes to play at a different pitch than standard, this is your go-to pedal, allowing for dropped tunings from E-flat all the way down to B. Whatever your pitch or tuning, PolyTuneTM is a sure-fire way to be spot-on, with an accuracy of just plus/minus 1cent. Chromatic champion Besides the Polyphonic tuner, PolyTuneTM has a chromatic tuner that can hang with the best current tuning technology out there, with an amazing 0.5 cent accuracy. But we are never satisfied with the current norm, and added some features to make this tuner's chromatic section stand out from the crowd. Tuning modes Let's start with the two separate chromatic tuning modes, which cater to your individual preferences and needs. Needle mode is for those that are used to the classic view on a tuner. For the people that want a little more real-time information, we have included stream-mode, which measures even the slightest pitch variation and instantly feeds the info back to you via a rotating motion on the display. Tuning Magnet Key to both these great chromatic modes is an ultra-fast and precise response, which is achieved via the use of the unique tuner magnet feature. This slows down the needle once you get close to the desired pitch, making it much easier to get the job done quickly. MonoPoly Whether you want to use the polyphonic tuner to get in tune, or prefer to go the chromatic route, this pedal has you covered. PolyTuneTM features "MonoPoly", a jaw-dropping new technology that recognizes whether you play one or more strings and instantly replies with the appropriate poly- or monophonic tuning mode. Total Recall Of course, all of these amazing features would not mean a thing if they were a pain to use or set up. So, we added some traits to ensure this tuner is calibrated to the guitarist. Unlike most other tuners, PolyTuneTM stores your preferences. From pitch reference to tuning mode, it hangs on to this information even after it is powered down, making sure you only have to set how you want things to happen once. The next time you power up again, it will show you the settings, so you instantly know Everything is exactly how you want it to be. Tuning as it should be PolyTuneTM was our chance to build the ultimate tuning tool from the ground up and finally get rid of some of the current tuner drawbacks that guitarists run into time and time again. Tuners have been around for some 30 odd years and we felt it was high time they got in tune with todays guitarists. Design is where beauty and technology meet But besides all the spearheading features inside the tuner, we took a long hard look at the outside as well, and pushed tuner design to new heights in the process! A strong display of innovation Starting with the display, it instantly becomes clear why PolyTuneTM is lightyears ahead of current tuners. Guitarists that play gigs, will no doubt recognize the nightmare of an unclear display, due to for example bright sunlight, an overeager light technician or a stage smoke machine gone bonkers. PolyTuneTM offers unprecedented visibility using an ambient light sensor, which automatically matches the brightness of the LEDs to its surroundings. What is the Matrix? PolyTuneTM features 17 LEDS which allow for a higher resolution and the LEDs themselves are super bright and focused to ensure optimal visibility at all times. This guarantees the most effortless tuning experience money can buy. And as an added bonus, the 100 LED matrix can give you information right on the display, so you won't have to go dig for the manual mid-gig. Size Matters PolyTuneTM will brighten any pedalboard, and we aren't just talking about the LEDs! Besides looking like a million bucks, its small footprint design means that PolyTuneTM doesn't take up more of your precious pedalboard real estate than absolutely necessary. Spruce the juice Battery changes are a breeze thanks to the one-screw easy access to the battery compartment and when powered by an external 9v DC power supply, the 9v DC out can be used to power other pedals on your board. True Bypass The true bypass feature ensures PolyTuneTM is only there when you need it. It allows for your carefully sculpted tone to flow unaffected when the pedal is bypassed and for silent tuning once engaged. We can't make tuning fun. But we can sure make it a whole lot easier. We want to do our part for the guitar community and truly innovate the life of guitarists. And with PolyTuneTM's extraordinary features and cutting-edge technology, we feel we have accomplished just that. We are passionate guitarists ourselves and we work every single day to make all our lives easier and more rocking. We did it for multi-effects with G-Force, G-Major2, Nova System and G-System, we did it for stomp boxes with the Nova series, and now PolyTuneTM is here to give tuning a much needed kick in the A440!
