Private Lesson Policies
Private Music Lessons:
The Mojo School of Music is in session year round, with private instruction offered on a monthly basis. Lessons are available to all ages and levels, and no prior experience or auditions are required. Instruction is available for guitar, bass guitar, piano, voice, drum set, hand drums, trumpet, low brass, flute, clarinet and saxophone.
New Student Registration:
Registration for new students can occur at any point within the month, with the monthly lesson rate being pro-rated through the end of the month. Prospective students complete a registration form, which is forwarded to the respective instructor. Instructors then contact the student to arrange a lesson time that will accommodate both the student and instructors’ schedules.
Tuition and Fees:
Private instruction is available for $99.99 per month for one half hour lesson once a week. If a student enrolls mid-month, the lesson fee is pro-rated at the rate of $25.00 per lesson through the end of the enrollment month. There are no refunds of lesson payments
Lessons are invoiced on the 20th of each month for the following month. Payment for the full month ($99.99) is due prior to the first lesson of the month. Lesson fees not paid by the 10th of the month are subject to a $15.00 late fee for each month that the account is past due. Customers choosing to have their lesson fee automatically deducted from their debit or credit account will be charged on the first business day of each month.
Missed lessons will not be credited, but may be eligible for a make-up lesson. When a lesson is missed due to an instructor’s absence, the student is scheduled for a make-up lesson. If the missed lesson is due to the student’s absence, a make-up lesson is given at the teacher’s discretion. No make-up lessons will be given without 24 hours advance notice of an absence.
As a courtesy to your instructor please notify the Mojo School of Music or your instructor in advance of any absence. Withdrawals and Refunds:
Students may withdraw with a full refund prior to their first lesson. Withdrawal within the 24 hours following the first lesson is refunded in full, less payment for the first lesson. There is no refund of lesson payments 24 hours after the first lesson.
Established students may permanently cancel lessons at any time by completing a Student Withdrawal Form (click here to obtain a copy). As a courtesy to instructor, please submit the Student Withdrawal Form to the Mojo School of Music at least one week prior to your scheduled lesson.
As there are no refunds of lesson payments, students are encouraged to permanently withdraw from lessons at month end. Students choosing to withdraw at a time other than month end will not receive a refund on lesson fees.
Leaves of Absence:
In the case of an emergency or a serious illness, a leave of absence may be granted. If approved by the instructor and the Mojo School of Music, credit may be given for the missed lessons. Students must notify teachers at least 24 hours prior to their scheduled lesson for a credit to be considered.
