J.J. Janssen designs, makes and repairs violins, guitars and various stringed instruments. He operates Kulshan Luthier Works at the Mojo School of Music in Bellingham, WA.
Educated by Master Luthiers at Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery in Phoenix, AZ, J.J. graduated at the top of his class in 1987. Recommended by his mentors, J.J. earned a resident position at Milano Music in Mesa, AZ.
J.J. is a practicing luthier, versed in the art of violin and bow repair, as well as guitar electronics and acoustics. He integrates traditional craftsmanship techniques with technological advances in materials to offer his customers the highest quality service and product available.

Bio:
Curtis Duckin holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Skagit Valley College in Mt. Vernon, WA, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. He taught general music and band in the Wilbur, La Connor and Burlington-Edison School Districts for 29 years. Prior to college, he participated in the Army Element School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia and served my country traveling with the US Army Band.
After retiring from teaching music education for 29 years, Curt attended the Renton Technical College in the Band Instrument Repair Technology program under the instruction of Daryl Hickman. He graduated May 18th, 2007 with a degree in Band Instrument Repair. Curt remains in contact with RTC, serving on the advisory committee.
Curt owns and operates Curt’s Band Instrument Repair. He works from his home shop, dropping off and picking up repairs at the Mojo School of Music weekly.
